Living esthetics

The concept of esthetics is a difficult one to define since we all have our own doors of perception. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. But whenever there is mention of esthetics, we intuitively experience a sense of wellbeing which we associate with our own concepts of harmony, beauty and healing. These associations originate in our primordial habitat: nature.

We human beings have evolved in harmonious relation to our wide open surroundings and naturally resonate with them. An example is the golden section, which is essential both to the growth of nature and our perception of beauty.

The widest cupola is our firmament.

Analogous to the cope of heaven, the instrument of reflexion itself is situated under a cupola - the skullcap. In the diverse worlds of plants and animals, we may come upon all types and forms of applications of ball and dome shapes. When it comes to the sheating of a body, the sphere is the most frequently found form in nature.

Examples where human beings make use of spherical shapes are to be found in various vessel-like structures like pitchers, vases and container, but also in nomadic tent structures of people who live in complete sync with the cycles of nature. In the monumental architecture of governments and sacred buildings of all world religions, the cupola is a main architectural element included in churches, cathedrals and minsters of Christians, stupas or dagobas of Buddhists, mosques of Moslems and in temples of Hindus.

There is no need of prestigious psychologists to demonstrate that architectural shapes have a deep influence on us.

Based on these thoughts on natural form, we from Archadom create energetic living spaces with high utilization and esthetic values, essentially with toxin-free materials. The result is a harmonious way of living that is freed from tough lines and narrow corners.

Our main focus point is the dome: Shaped by the free flow of energy, it is carried by the arch - hence Arch a dome.

In order to find the healing and harmonizing effects of form it seems therefore obvious to inspect examples in nature. Without compromise, the Tortoise in it's own shelter:
